Minutes

Members Present:      Rick and (President) Lesia Simpson, Ray Caldwell, Mike and Amy Travillian, Blake and (Secretary) Tina Boggs, Richard Phillips and Wife, Paul and Linda Varner, Sonny and Becky Petry, Lewis Fliney, Willis Wright, and Jasper Wright.

  Meeting:   Meeting opened by President Lesia Simpson at 7:20pm.  Meeting held at Piggott Community Center. First discuss old Business. No old business due to the passing of the Buffalo Island show were the Club was asked to give money and club tabled it until a letter was received. No meeting in April to decide to give money.  Mike was not able to make a contact with Hillsboro. Ray said they were only giving Market price for goats. Decide not to bother with calling Hillsboro.

                        Lesia read off the bank Balance at 1350.00 – 125.00 donation to softball team, - 165.06 Meal at restaurant for club members, balance 1059.94 as of May 23,2008. Paul made motion to except and Richard second the motion members approved motion carried.

                        Floor was open for discussion about clubs recent activates.  Paul voiced his thoughts. Did not believe that the club should be calling members for votes over issues that have not been openly discussed among members before a vote is taken (no Phone voting). did not agree with the vote to give money to the girls soft ball team,  Club should be sponsoring 4-H club, FFA clubs or their members, Sponsor start-up Farms that are moving into the area to promote the goat.  

            Goat Shows promote our goats and puts money into the club He does not want to do shows.

            The Club has Failed at helping out the members in times of need this is what the club was formed for Club needs to get back to the basics.

            Becky asked about Babies dieing because the sags do not break. Sacks too thick, Lesia ask if the goats got into fescue?

            Members decide to hold a meeting in June.   Members bring in information for Lesia to put on the web site about their farm.

            June meeting to be held at 7:30, at the Piggott Community Center on the 12^th. Paul Made motion and Richard second the motion and all members agreed and motion carried.

Ray made motion to end meeting at 8:35 and Blake second the motion. All members agreed, motion carried.
